Hug by Jez Alborough is one of my brother’s favourite books. When I took the book out from the shelf and opened it, I had never seen a book with just one word throughout – ‘Hug’.
Even though it only has one word, I read this book to my brother using different tones. He laughed his head off which amazed me because this book is so simple. The pictures in this book are adorable and are all animals. It is about a little monkey who is in search of his mummy. He goes to each of the animals and asks them for a hug but all of them are busy so he ends up walking and walking to find someone to hug him. Eventually he finds his mummy and of course he receives the biggest HUG in the world.
